This Hotel was built in 1643. The Helme Park Hall Hotel, originally called Elm Park Hall, has had a range of occupants and functions.
It was a distinguished family home, later the residences of Colonel Stobart, Commandant of the nearby Second World War Prisoner of War Camp and more recently regional headquarters of the Forestry Commission. The hall was originally established as a hotel in 1987.
Hauntings
It comes as no surprise that a building 4 century's old has plenty of hauntings to keep us busy.
First of all an apparition of a young girl has been witnessed many times throughout the hotel, it is said that she died in this building many years ago.
An apparition of a lady in green or the green lady as she is known is seen walking passed room 233.
Guests have heard taps on windows from the outside of the hotel, also had electrical equipment turn on and off.
Voices are heard coming from the empty rooms, and people find themselves being touched when alone.
So now you know what you are getting yourselves into, do you still dare come and investigate & maybe find Something Paranormal!!
