Please send me things! All responses will be exhibited.

I am an artist making an installation of people’s responses to the location of my forthcoming exhibition on an industrial estate in Southall, West London.

You may focus on any aspect of this place either imagined or researched. Some contributors may have never heard of Southall/ been on an industrial estate/visited London, others will be more familiar with some aspects of the location. Please accompany your response with information about yourself, what you have sent, your thinking behind it and where you are from.

Responses may be objects (found or made), stories (fictional or factual), images, text, banners, audio, video, phone calls, messages, performance or any other media. Responses can be sent by mail, email, courier delivery, phone call, SMS, in person, or by arranging to meet up with me. Contact details are below.

Everything I receive will be exhibited to the public at a major group exhibition organised by London’s Departure Gallery on 10-12th December 2009. Contributions will be labelled with the sender’s name (please state if you want to remain anonymous). All contributors will be invited to the private view night (please include your email address so I can send you the invite) and will be credited in the exhibition catalogue.

The aim is to amass a large collection of responses to this location from different people all over the world. Use your imagination and the following Wikipedia articles as a starting point:
