Hiya, we are a hard working couple who do DIY and gardening for local residents but we have hit rock bottom on the run up to Christmas with no work booked at all. We are both former teachers and myself a school Governor but things have taken a change for the worst and we are in debt and the Baillifs are also coming to take our furniture tomorrow. Not good.
We would really appreciate anything: beans, soups, bread, coffee, milk, potatoes, anything that is in your cupboards that you don't want anymore. We have switched our fridge off as it's empty. We can collect locally although our car is running on fumes (unless the Baillifs take that also).
We really don't like asking but pride must take second to being practical. We have a dog and two cats and still have some food for them but any more food for them would help as well as cat litter.
More than happy to do some work around the house and garden for you in exchange if you wish. I am picking my children up on Friday for the weekend and we simply have no food now and I have an obligation to at least get some food in for them. They understand the situation.
I am also a graphic designer with no work coming in as everyone is a graphic designer nowadays, but I am willing to design something for you maybe a Christmas card, business literature, apply some photo magic to an old war photo for you or a relative.
We knock around 50 door per day every day to not much avail. We are fit and able but our field of work is so diluted, nobody is buying.
If you can help, it would be brilliant. Like I say, pride has to come second. We have sold everything that we can to cash converters and now we have nothing else left of any value. My children aren't expecting Christmas presents this year, it's just brilliant that they fully understand the position. We know that next year will be better. Positive frame of mind and all that.
We hate asking but needs must.
Regards, Paul and Catherine
