The Covent Garden Treasure Hunt

The Covent Garden Treasure Hunt is one of our most popular and best selling treasure hunts. It really does provide a thrilling introduction to one of London's most colourful and vibrant neighbourhoods.

It starts with a visit to a 17th century watergate, a leftover from the the days when great palaces lined the banks of the River Thames and the great good (and not so good) that lived in them traveled everywhere by way of the river.

Then it is in to a warren of delightful old streets that really have the mark of ages past upon them. Houses in which live the likes of Samuel Pepys, Rudyard Kipling and a host of other colourful characters. Of course all of them feature in our Covent Garden Treasure hunt so you will learn a great deal about these people.

From here we make our way into the street where Charles Dickens gained his inspiration to create the spooky scene in A Christmas Carol when the door knocker turns into Marley's face. The street has changed little, if at all, since Dickens created that memorable image.

Sherlock Holmes then makes a sudden and startling appearance on the treasure hunt before you pick your way through streets, alleyways and passageways and enter one of London's smallest. least known, and timeless thoroughfares that some believe inspired J.K. Rowling to create Diagon Alley.

Via more tiny, tucked away passageways you make your way to Covent Garden Market itself where clues and challenges must be solved beneath the picturesque canopy of the piazza.

But as you make your way around our Covent Garden Treasure Hunt Route you will really need to study the buildings and places visited as you must answer a series of Observation Questions and Photo Challenges. So only by taking your time, absorbing your surroundings and looking up, down and all around will you be able to complete the quest and emerge victorious.
